Earthquake and Eclipse in New York and New Jersey: Signs of the End Times

As many may have experienced or seen on social media, a recent earthquake struck New Jersey, causing a stir in New York City and its environs. We’ve weathered the tremors and now find ourselves pondering: Could this be a sign of the End Times? 

The recent spate of floods, impending solar eclipse, and rumors of locust swarms, coupled with Eric Adams assuming office as mayor, paints a disconcerting picture. You may know the Book of Revelation frequently mentions earthquakes, notably in chapters eight and sixteen, describing them amidst thunderous tumult. Reflecting on this, one might be inclined to deem our recent seismic activity noteworthy, depending on one’s interpretation.

The convergence of the earthquake and the impending eclipse is undeniably intriguing. It’s worth noting that the eclipse will be visible from Rochester, New York, historically known for its religious fervor. Perhaps it’s time for me to humorously consider starting a new religious movement, an idea I’ve playfully entertained since my days at a theological institution. 

Admittedly, New York’s 4.8-magnitude quake may not quite measure up to the seismic events foretold in Revelation. Nonetheless, it has provided ample fodder for discussion and distraction from the daily grind. While we didn’t hear any celestial voices nor witness any divine interventions, it’s a reminder to stay vigilant and perhaps reconnect with neglected aspects of life, be it spiritual reflection or catching up with old acquaintances. 

In the grand scheme of things, perhaps this quake is merely a gentle nudge from the cosmos, reminding us to pay attention and engage with the world around us. After all, God has a flair for the dramatic, doesn’t he?
